Night procession, Ghost Festival, Thailand

From a fertility ritual that initiates the Ghost Festival. Before sunrise a procession leads to the river to honour the water spirits, who hopefully grant abundant rain during the wet season for a good rice crop. The procession then returns to the temple grounds, where prayers and chanting complete the morning ceremonies.
