Phanom Rung Khmer temple, Thailand

Prasat Hin Phanom Rung temple sanctuary in Buriram province, Thailand. Exceptionally beautiful in setting and architecture, built in Angkor style with pink sandstone on the outer facades. Constructed from the 10th to the 13th century it was built as a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, on top of the 400m high rim of an extinct volcano symbolising Shiva's heavenly abode on mount Kailash.
