Red Cross Youth, Bangkok, Thailand.

Walking through Chinatown i passed this little girl standing quietly in the door of her home. She was completely still and motionless and in her blue uniform stuck out from most people wearing white for the Vegetarian Festival.

When i asked her (in Thai) for a portrait she just looked at me for a few seconds, and without a sound turned around slowly and walked into the room to ask her mom working at a table in the front room. As quietly as she left she came back and stood at the door again as before and just nodded a tiny little bit.

She showed the faintest hint of a smile when i showed her the photo on the camera.
