Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar.

The most sacred place for Myanmar's Buddhists and said to contain 4 Buddha relics. It is hard to overstate the importance of this place for the country and people. It is the place to go for worship, family outings or to take time out for body and mind. And what a place it is.

This iconic shot was on my "list" for years, only to find it was maintenance time for the gilded stupa. But then, you don't often get to see such a fascinating bamboo scaffolding either :)
