Floating market, Thailand

View from above into the front portion of a traditional wooden boat on a floating market in Samut Songkhram province in Thailand. A seated woman is holding a wooden paddle with a variety of vegetables and fruit in baskets in the boat in front of her. Her face is completely obscured by a large traditional Thai hat called 'ngop', that is woven from palm leaves and bamboo. She is dressed in fine woven cloth and shirt and only her hands holding the paddle are visible. The skin on the hand steering the paddle is wrinkled from age and reddish brown almost sunburnt from time spent outdoors.. An umbrella is lying in the back of the boat. The boat is calmly gliding in dark green water with many yellow or light green flowers and leaves on the surface. The traditional woven brown hat and the lacquered red wooden paddle with the many colourful vegetables and fruit make a vibrant cheerful contrast with the green water.
