Chinese opera backstage, Bangkok

Backstage at a Chinese opera deep in Chinatown Bangkok. The community is keeping this slowly disappearing art alive; troupes play regularly throughout the year on small stages and temple events and every night on major events, as here during the Vegetarian Festival. Actors and their families live together closely sharing what little space and time is available. Here one of the actor's daughers is sitting behind stage still in her school uniform.
